Dumb ol' NFL!!!
To say dey own WHO DAT.
I mean everyone knows dat dey never cared
about de Saints or de fleur-de-lis
when we were de laughing stock of de NFL.
Heck we could make signs of picket fences
and hold dem up for de camera to see we meant
defense and dey problably taught,
"Dumb cajuns who live in Louisiana,
can't win a game, can't speak, dey look so
dumb wearing and chanting, "WHO DAT"
OH but now let us go to da Superbowl and
all of a sudden dey tink dey own us!
Like everyone in da world knows dat we
own de bad english dat comes wit da
WHO DAT NATION.
Everbody in da whole world knows
we have been pronouncing our th's for d's
since da old pa-pa's came to dis darn place
we call Louisiana.
But dem NFL people dey backed down.
Dey are afraid to mess wit a bunch of mad
coon-a** people who know dey are right.
Dey tink day scared right now
heck come Sunday dey are gunna wish Da
Louisiana Saints never went over dere to Miami
to win de Superbowl.
Dey gunna wish we played dat dere game right
here in our Superbowl cuz when us people
get excited der is no stopping us.
And dat dere Payton Manning,
he shoulda followed in his daddy's footsteps
and played right dere in da Superdome.
I know he is scared, heck he knows what a bunch
of wild cajuns can do to a game.
So predictions, anyone?

Colts 7
Ya, dat's right dat Manning boy won't be able to do nuting
against us and his Daddy, well he be singing de praises of
us Saints again once his baby boy is shut out.

Truthfully, the Cincinnati Bengals started it with "Who Dey" about 2 years before the Saints came up with "Who Dat" ( I read it in an article on SI.com ... go figure) I don't have a prediction yet. I will say I'm glad a long term deal was signed with the Saints before this or we may be building a new stadium along the river instead of renovating the Superdome. Not that it would be a bad thing .... I could use some new seats and a few more amenities for me and the Mrs......

Actually the phrase "Who Dat" came from the Southern University Jaguars. Their phrase was, "Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Jags," so it originally started in Louisiana. Therefore it's ours to use freely.
ReplyDeleteJust don't put it on a shirt with any NFL trademark or you'll get a cease and desist letter .... then you won't be able to sell merchandise to make tax money to subsidize my new stadium and amenities and there goes all the goodness for my tooshness.
ReplyDeleteI got news for all of you. The term "WHO DAT" doesn't belong to the NFL or the New Orleans Saints or the Saints fans. "DAT" just like all words that began with "TH" is a product of the French culture in south Louisiana. (Not the rednecks up north Louisiana.) Lets say south of I-10 and surrounding area. I'm not even going to explain this any further. Look up ya'lls history. But I ga-run-tee you dat "WHO DAT" has nothing what so ever to do with feetbal.

I like my cozy dome... although a new stadium would do just fine along the river ... just up from the GNO ..... that would be nice..... I'll get on the waiting list to get the Collins clan tickets ... no problem-o ... I'm number 53,874 in line.....
