Roen, Cami, and Honey

We all have those friendships that start as little children
and continue through our lives.
Keeping them current seems hard and
yet Tanial and I have managed to do this.
We have been friends since second grade.
Throughout our lives we have remained close
even if years go by without seeing each other.
I served in her wedding way back when.
She was the first of my high school friends to become
a Mother, and the first to become a
grandmother, or a HONEY, I should say.
So this blog is about my friend
but it is ultimately about this
beautiful baby, who I just know will
always be an important part of my life.
Cami, Tanial's daughter, also has
been important to me mostly in her adult years.
I was there hours after she gave birth to this
child, Roen.
Cami has been so good about making
sure she visits with the baby
and reminding me that Roen needs to know
who her Aunt Lil is.
Last night was one of those nights.
She stopped in for "just a few minutes"
and we landed up talking for an
hour or two.
I am so proud of Cami and how much
she adores this child.
She shared how much her life has changed
since she has become a Mommy and
how everything is now different for
her because she views the world so
differently.
She and I talked about things we never could
have before Roen because until you become
a Mother, there is so much about loving
a child that you just don't understand.
I always enjoy my visits with Cami and Roen.
I hope Roen, through her life will understand
just how much she is loved by her
Mommy, her Honey and oh, of course,
her Aunt Lil
Thanks Cami and Tanial for keeping
me active in Roen's life.
I love the three of ya'll to pieces!

  1. Precious! Yes, being a mother is such an experience that it's hard to put in words. It is the best experience in the world and it involves our heart as well as our soul. Friendship is also a special bond that is very strong. We have some friends for life (like Tanial)and we realize how much we value those special friends as sisters!
