NO SAINTS GAME FOR US

Imagine how happy I was when Ron and I get settled into our
cozy, nice Holiday Inn room to find out that
Saints vs. Dallas is just not a big deal in Nashville.
You would think that due to the fact that the
Saints is one of the only teams undefeated
this season and playing the only NFL game
on Saturday night that somewhere in the 100 or so
channels this hotel has that we would be able to
watch the game!!
Wasn't gunna happen and now I am convinced that
they lost because I couldn't watch the game.
My brod-in-law, Uncle Jay
who has been a fan of the Saints when people
were wearing bags over their heads and
you could buy a ticket to watch them for about
10 dollars because no one went to watch them
has told me many times this season that it is rigged.
Now I know he doesn't say this lightly
this man wore black and gold when no one even
knew the Saints was an NFL team.
Yet last night he had me believing
not in the Saints but in the chance that maybe
these football games are rigged.
Like who misses a 23 yard field goal in a closed dome?
A highschool kicker could have made that,
heck I probably could have made that.
We lost in the end but it came close to a tying game.
13 and 1, yes that does still sound good
but Saints are going to have to play a better game
if they want to find themselves in the superdome.
Yet if Uncle Jay's predictions are right,
my betting money is on the Saints.
What for greater stories than a team
to have never won a superbowl to win this year?
Like Aunt Ronnie said,
"As long as we are on the side of winnig, who cares if it's rigged?"

  1. I was there .... and this game pretty much shows you what life in the NFL is all about ... a team that doesn't make mistakes ... WINS ... teams such as the New Orleans are much better than most of the league and it showed when they were able to make mistakes and beat Washington and Miami... but Dallas is in on the same level as he Pats, Giants, and Eagles... when the Saints played those teams they didn't make mistakes.... last night they did and it cost them... Heath Evans is the fullback that was lost for the season... since then we've been playing with fill-ins and getting by.. last night's fill in almost got Brees killed in the only play he was in on (thank god) in the second series that could have kept the drive going... most don't notice this but I do.. FB goes straight to block instead of picking up guy to right on Brees backside and splat bam... down went Brees when Colston is open for the first down .... Saints offense couldnt' get on rhythm and defense couldn't get off of the field when they needed too... Now the Saints laid somewhat of an egg ... but got where they needed to be to make it winable... however it wasn't the missed kick .... it was the inability to get off of the field on the last drive ...3 and 7 on your own 25 and you give up a 30 yard completion... end of the world --- no --- let's look at it this way .. the odds of two teams being undefeated in the superdome are way too high so let's drop a game now for the football gods... win the last two and let's see who can beat us in the dome for the playoffs ... that's the best you can ask for when you start the season.... go saints and cut that damn fullback.

  2. ----- Don't feel bad about not being able to catch the game. It's not just because you were in Nashville because I couldn't watch it here in Louisiana. That's because it was broadcast ONLY on the NFLN channel. So the only people who could catch it are the people who pay EXTRA money for the NFLN channel. I had to sit in my car and listen to it on the radio. And I think that's a crying shame for the state of Louisiana not to be able to see a Saints game without paying extra for it just so the NFL can make more money then they already stick everyone for. As you can tell I'M P_ _ _ ED OFF.

----- But look at the bright side. We are for sure, sure going into the playoffs and we for sure have a by week for the first round of the playoffs. And if the Saints when their last two games we will have home field advantage which means at least the first game we play will be in the Dome in N.O. They should not have much of a problem doing that.

----- The Saints are playing with a lot of important injured players. They are playing with people who were hired "off the street." If they are to survive they must get most of their original team back healthy and ready to play. But if the Saints play the way they played last night against the Cowboys they won't win against some of the teams they beat eariler this season. Much less beating a team like the Vikings or even the still undeafeted Colts. That won't happen in my openion.

----- But come hell or high water I will still be behind them because like C.J. and Ronnie I was watching the Saints from the beggining.

----- Hope all is going well tor you 2 over there. Please continue to keep us informed of what's going on with you over there.

  3. The gripe is with the cable companies that don't carry the channel ... I have directv and not cable and it comes with the NFL channel .... the only way to put the NFL in its place is to stop buying the product ... and that won't happen anytime soon... people buy the jerseys, the caps, the shirts, the socks, the flags on the cars ... anything you can think of ... the beer mugs with the beer... all the stuff... then you have the companies that sell this stuff that everyone wants to buy wanting to advertise so they pay to advertise to get you to buy it .... not to mention the other companies that advertise products that they know you want b/c they know you're watching ..... so you have all these ad dollars that fox, cbs, abc, nbc, espn, and nfl network all want so they pay the NFL to broadcast ... so the NFL pays its members accordingly so if you sit back and think a guy like Peyton Manning or Drew Brees isn't worth $100 million to it's company, think again b/c they are key pieces in a multi-billion dollar industry .... so go back to the top and we need to stop watching and buying the products then you'll see them in a few years get paid accordingly.... oh and by the way ... those caps and shirts we buy for $25 bucks cost that b/c the add company has to pay its people, the tv people get paid, the transportation people that drive the stuff around have to get paid and down the line ..... it's pretty simple when you get down to what's actually driving the business .... millions of regular people just like you and me.

  4. I think if I would have stayed in that 40 dollar crack house room, I could have seen the game at the liquor store with the brothers. Amen brother Miki.
