What do you have to loose?

i WOULD RATHER
LIVE MY LIFE BELIEVING
THER E IS A GOD AND DIE TO
FIND OUT THERE ISN’T
THAN TO LIVE MY LIFE
BELIEVING THERE ISN’T
A GOD AND TO DIE TO FIND
OUT THERE IS
-UNKNOWN

Back to religion time!
My girls and I were all so excited to see each other
again. I love my girls!
This is the year they will confirm and I plan
on being there at their side.
Above, I share this writing with them again.
It is not the first time they have heard it as
I tend to use this quote often.
What made last night even more special?
There in our lesson is a story that explains my favorite quote
in a way the girls can get:

PASCHAL'S WAGER:
The Philosopher, Paschal, offers us a wager, which
took him to his knees before and after he wrote it.
The wager is this:
SUPPOSE THERE IS A LOTTERY, THE PRIZE A BILLION DOLLARS.
THERE ARE ONLY TWO TICKET LEFT,
A WINNING TICKET AND A LOOSING TICKET.
THE COST OF EACH TICKET IS ONE DOLLAR!
WOULD YOU SPEND THE DOLLAR ON THE FIFTY/FIFTY
CHANCE THAT YOU WILL WIN?
OF COURSE, IT'S JUST A DOLLAR.
IF YOU DON'T BUY A TICKET, YOU GET NOTHING.
OUR WAGER WITH THE EXISTENCE OF GOD
IS THE SAME: HE EXISTS OR HE DOESN'T.
WE ARE ASKED TO BUY A TICKET:
TO BE A BELIEVER AND TO DO GOOD AND
AVOID EVIL.
IF THERE IS A GOD, YOU WIN THE ULTIMATE PRIZE-
HEAVEN!
TREASURE BEYOND COMPREHENSION.
IF THERE IS NO GOD, YOU AREN'T OUT MUCH.
YOU HAVE LIVED A GOOD LIFE,
CHANCES ARE YOU'VE AVOIDED PRISON,
MURDER, STD'S, AND ANY MANNER OF BAD THINGS
THAT WOULD HAVE BEFALLEN YOU HAD YOU
BEEN BEFALLEN YOU HAD YOU BEEN IMMORAL.

Oh, how I love this Philosopher,
I could not have explained my favorite quote better than
this small story has.
Believe.... you have nothing to loose,
except Heaven, of course!
