4th generations, another baptized

Zachary David Broussard was baptized today,
on his parents first anniversary,
on Valentine's day,
by the same priest who married them.
He was the best baby out of the 4 who was baptized.
Didn't even cry when he took his dunk.
He was admired and adored by everyone who was there.
He is the most beautiful baby, just perfect in all ways.
A fourth generation which seems to continue on.
My own grandchildren will also be part of the fourth generation
but so is Bronson and Tedi.
Many years between all this generation.
In today's world I sometimes worry about this generation
but then again I shouldn't. With so many loving people having
their hands in our children why shouldn't they be okay?
Yet to Zachary I would like to say something I have said before:
You my little man are a lucky boy.
You see on our way from the church to your home,
your parents and yourself were behind me and because I am
a people watcher, I was watching in my rear view
mirror as I waited for the red light to turn green.
I watched your parents talking to each other,
I watched them feel the heater vent to see
if it were blowing too hard on you.
Then I saw the most simple gesture that made me know
you are lucky.
Your Daddy took your Mommy's hand in his,
he looked at her and he kissed the top of her hand.
She smiled back at him and the light turned green.
So you, my child, have one of the most important parts
in which to make a happy family.
The best thing a father can give his children is to love their Mother.
There is no doubt that your Daddy adores your Mommy.
Welcome to the faith we call Catholicism.
As the priest said today, you will never again be so pure
as you are now. He said we should genuflect at the sight
of a newly baptized baby because it is the closest you
will ever get to the purity of God himself.
The party after was fun. Fun to just hang out and talk,
Peter made the most awesome gumbo.
Chicken, sausage, Taso and eggs..
(yes, Peter they were the most perfect eggs)
The rice was a small problem but that is a story for
a whole "nother" blog
Of course, there was cake.
Oh and I must say how very proud I am of Cheryl.
After many years of working, working, working,
She has now cut down her days to three a week so she could
babysit for Zachary when M goes back to work.
Did I mention what a lucky boy he is, that Zachary?

  2. I wouldn't call it cutting back or reduced hours ... I'd call it being transferred to a new boss. And a handsome one at that... looks like Nonc Pete is second fiddle.

  3. Aunt Lil filled me in on all of the happenings of the day and raved on and on about Poppa's gumbo.

I am so happy that everything went so well and am so proud of all of us as a family.

Cheryl, I hope that I age as gracefully as you do. I swear I remember you looking the exact same from the day that we spent on the beach, dancing in the sand, to the picture that was taken yesterday. You're an amazing lady and I have always admired you being so calm, cool and collective no matter what the situation.

So glad everyone had a great day and welcome to our world, Zachary!!

    Love,
    Great Aunt C

  4. >> I know for one that I had a really great time. Everyone was very loud as I expected and enjoyed. You see, I measure how much fun we have together by the noise level. It was all good.

    >> I'm glad ya'll liked the gumbo although I didn't think it was as good as I thought it was going to be. But that was all good too.

    >> I missed all that could not make it. But I understand that "SPIT HAPPENS."

    >> Ronnie, you think it's unbelievable that you have a teenage grandaughter. Cheryl and EYES first grandson (Bronson) is graduating from COLLAGE ths year. Time does go by very quickly. But no matter how many times yu explain this to young people they won't get it until they reach our age or maybe a litle younger then us.

    >> Mikie I been second fiddle ever sense Aleena was born.

    >> Celena, how the H _ _ L ae you doing ?? I have to assume you are doing very well because I got no emergency pone call from anyone in the family. (LOL) Hw was Steamboat ?? Still waiting for pics.

    >> Later, LUV-U-A,
    >>>> Peter
