"WHEN YA AIN'T GOT NOTHING GOOD TO SAY"

My daddy always said just like many other parents
back in the day:
"IF YA AIN'T GOT NOTHING GOOD TO SAY
DON'T SAY NOTHING AT ALL"
Daddy hated negative gossip or truth.
So much good is happening in my personal life
but how can I overlook the fact
that young girls are being raped and murdered
in my little towns I grew up in
by outsiders.
I cannot overlook the fact that because of
this murder four children are left without a mother.
How can I overlook that the places that
I considered sacred to my childhood
are being polluted by corruption?
Yes, I now live in Thibodaux for many reasons
but my heart and my past will always be proud
to say I am from Golden Meadow.
I brag about it all the time.
No one here in Thibodaux does not know where I am from.
So I am saddened that one of the safest places
on the Earth is becoming corrupt by
people who just don't belong there.
My opinion of course.
People from the small towns
of Golden Meadow, Galliano, Cut Off and Larose
are all feeling the same way no matter where they live now.
I know bad things are happening all over the world
and yes it affects me but not the same way as
it does when my old stomping grounds are being attacked.
Yet, if I look at the big picture,
what is the Big Man trying to tell us here?
Big changes need to happen all over the world.
I often say I am glad I am not raising young children
in today's world and yet I know I have a responsibility here.
I will have grandchildren in this world.
I have nieces, nephews and a slew of young children
in my life that I adore.
I attend church most mornings to pray for the children
of the world. They are the innocents in all of this,
aren't they?
Never more than now has the statement
IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD
made sense.
Let this be your motto and if you have the chance
to make a difference in a child's life...
do it!

  1. Only one problem... what if it's a village of idiots? Then what? Your coin has two sides. What about the hard working people who left their wife and KIDS to come to the "land of opportunity". Opportunity that many many many do not appreciate. The village that raised them evidently didn't step up to the plate because they think it's o.k. to go to work "high as a kite"... they think it's o.k. to run up an enormous amount of personal debt then turn to whatever kind of "quick cash" they can put their hands on... they think it's o.k. to have kids and then not step up and financially support them so that child services has to step in... they think it's o.k. to only work on tuesday and wednesday then get loaded and skip thursday b/c of a hangover and friday because of a wedding and saturday and sunday b/c it's the weekend and monday b/c the barber shop is closed too... they think they should have what you have and worked hard for without having to start at the bottom or climb to the to... They want to collect from the government that "free" check or file a lawsuit and get Morris Bart to get them some "quick" cash because someone dented their fender... SO WHAT HAPPENS??? THOSE JOBS THAT THE VILLAGE IDIOTS REFUSED TO TAKE HAD TO BE GIVEN TO THOSE WHO WANTED THEM....Some of these men actually have wives and families at home and come here, pay taxes, pay social security and send their hard earned money home. Their village is poor but at least they are willing to work. So don't put our village and your new village up on a pedastal just yet. Maybe the four mexican murderers wouldn't have even been here if our village people would have gotten off their black and white derrieres and went to work instead of drinking malt liquor on the corner or smoking st augustine dope behind the building or playing doctor with the little crack head girls. Maybe, just maybe if we send our kids to school everyday like we're supposed to and actually sit down and help them with their homework and actually pay attention to them instead of drinking malt liquor, smoking dope or playing doctor (although playing doctor is legit under the right covers with your legal spouse) you wouldn't have kids in school with guns in Thibodaux or in Larose. And maybe, just maybe if people used just a little bit common sense, they wouldn't find themselves broke and green with envy because their neighbor was able to buy a six pack of Budweiser and all you got was one Milwaukee Best Lite which causes the Lite beer guy to beat up the Bud man and take his beer then he shoots you and throws you in a ditch and makes his pal hide the gun instead of going to work. WORK? wow, that's a brain storm of a suggestion. Go to work all day and go straight home after work instead of going to Tequila sunrise. Go to work all day and come home and watch Katie Couric so you can at least educate yourself, then brush your teeth go to bed and go to work tomorrow. Do that for a while then you'll have some money and you don't have to go to Tequila Sunrise. Wow! That works. HAS IT EVER NOT WORKED? And yes, on this subject, I AM A SELF-PROCLAIMED GENIUS. I'VE JUST GIVEN YOU SOME REAL LIFE EXAMPLES. Have a great day...VILLAGE PEOPLE (I'm the Indian Chief with all of the feathers ... the one that appears the least gay)

  2. AMEN ANONYMOUS!!!!!! Yes I feel for the children of our world, it's most of the parents of those children that need to be sent running! For an example, I was involved in a "minor" accident taking Tiffany to the doctor in Houma about a year and a half ago! Of course, she is suing me and not to go into any details of the accident I was served with papers. The only thing that was true in those papers was the date and time of the accident. Everything else was not true but because of our system she can sue me. I am almost 64 years old I have had one accident before this and that one was not my fault. I had 2 minor traffic tickets. This person that is suing me and her "husband" has been arrested several times since our accident. Last week she was arrested for several different things. Her van was involved in another accident where she said it was stolen from her. Yea right!!! I have told our attornies several times that we do not want to give this person a penny from our insurance! It because of these people and the people who are involved in these law suits that our insurance costs are so high. I feel like filing a law suit against her for "DEFIMATION OF CHARATER"! I am a person that tries to do right by everyone I meet and guess what "IS IT WORTH IT" with people like her?

There I got something off my chest that has been there for some time and couldn't say anything about it!

    Love to all!!

  3. All that has been said is true and I agree with all of it yet the fact remains that we will not change lots of this and if we don't do our part, the part their parents are not doing, then the future will just be worse. So we can agree on all of this, which I do but the main point is the fact that it will be up to us "Indian Chiefs"
us who are not village idiots to help the product of the most proclaimed village idiots.
If we do our part with the children, hopefully they will remember parts of it and strive to be better than where they offsprang from.
So pray for the children and make a difference if you can.

  4. From the ever-so intelligent words of William Shakespeare... "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers" ... My advice to you is pay the deductible and go about your day. Forget about it. And next time try to stick to the topic -- we can't be going off on tangents because of your driving skills. We do have some unwritten rules of order here on "lilbit of my world"... unless you babysit for me and my wife, then you can pretty much say whatever you want. And while you're at it, file suit against your 3rd grade spelling teacher. And lock all of your doors and put the alarm system on b/c with my no. 4 you must always be prepared.

  5. EXCUSE ME ANONYMOUS - AND I QUOTE "FILE A LAWSUIT AND GET MORRIS BART TO GET THEM SOME "QUICK" CASH BECAUSE SOMEONE DENTED THEIR FENDER" so I didn't go off the subject, so I didn't dent her car she dented Tiffany's, so I'm not a great speller but I did get my point across, and I am here to babysit your children whenever I can - PUT THAT IN YOUR PIPE AND SMOKE IT INDIAN CHIEF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (lol)

  7. Hey Miki great point, some of the best workers I've work with were from Mexico and the Islands offshore, these Guys had to be told to take a break and never talk back to supervision. People bitch all the time about others taking our jobs, if they would get off there ass and go to work we wouldn't need to get labor from outside our state. I would much rather supervise a crew from mexico any day because you can get work done and don't have to go looking for them hiding and trying to get out of work. America got pissed off years ago when japan said that we were lazy people, maybe there is some truth to that.
